Celtics Blow Out Mavericks in Game 1

Jayson Tatum Leads Boston to 107-89 Victory

The Boston Celtics have taken a 1-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals after a dominant 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

The Celtics took control of the game early, outscoring the Mavericks 32-17 in the first quarter. Boston extended its lead to 58-39 by halftime, thanks in large part to a 16-42 (38.1%) performance from three-point range.

Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston, scoring 32 points and hitting five three-pointers. Jaylen Brown (29 points) and Marcus Smart (18 points) also played key roles in the victory.

Luka Doncic put up a triple-double for the Mavericks with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Boston's hot shooting and suffocating defense.

The Celtics will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in Game 2, which will be played in Boston on Sunday night.
